Hallo,
I'm using a Saitek X52 (not the pro) Flight stick and throttle on the PS4 to play Ace Combat 7.
All the buttons and controls are set up and work properly.
I'm able to play the game with all the functions.
The only problem is that the yaw and pitch input have a big dead zone. (main joystick)
The throttle and rudder are fine. Its very direct and precise.
When I check the IO monitor in the app I can see that the ReaSnow receives the input and sends it to the PS4.
It looks like there is a programmed dead zone in the game. There are no settings within the game that can help me change that.
Is it possible to increase the value that the Reasnow sends to the PS4?
Maybe like and exponentiation function?
Hope to hear from you.

hi,Marten
try to reduce the "Third-Party Controller Deadzone" in "edit config" in our APP.
-
Hi Peter,
Thanks for your replay.
I've did try to change the Third-Party Controller Deadzone setting.
But this did not had any effect on the problem.
-
yes, some flight games have big deadzone for yaw and pitch to simulate the real world,
if the deadzone in game is bigger than the deadzone in ReaSnow S1,
changes here will show no result.
when I/O monitor is enabled, you can see that all data(yaw and pitch or other sticks or buttons)
are delivered to PS4 without delay,
but the game think it shall be sometime to respond to the input.
-
Hallo Richard,
Thanks for your replay.
It is clear that the dead zone of the stick is caused by the ace combat 7 game.
The input from the flight stick is deliverd to the PS4 without delay. Seen in the I/O monitor.
It is not that the game takes time to respond but the game only responds if the input value is big enough.
There is not an in game setting to change this.
So at the moment it make my x52 useless.
A solution could be that the Reasnow increased the send value to the PS4.
At the moment the value is send 1-1. Input value and output to the ps4 are the same.
I included a little graph to make it a bit more clear.
The blue line is the input from the flight stick.
The green line is the output to the PS4.
The red line could be the output to the PS4 if the joystick would react to sensitive. (not the case here)
I think it would be a great option to have in the reasnow.
It could be useful for a lot of other flight stick and steering wheel users!
-
seems a good idea:)
will evaluate the possibility and try adding it in the future release!
-
Please let me know when i can expect the next update and if you decided to include this option.
Hope to hear from you soon.
-
Hey this is possible for apex legends too or no? I want try it maybe help my movements haha
-
sorry, can you elaberate?
are you going to use X52(the flightstick) to play Apex Legends?
-

Hello everybody ! I also want to use my x52 with my ps4 ... I found two variants of the reasnow block on the net. These are crosshair and s1. But I can't figure out which block should I use? Marten - please tell me which block are you using? Or I ask the developers to tell me which block my x52 will work with. Thanks in advance !
-
s1 will definitely be the best choice for flight sticks:)
-
what is the reason?
-
firstly, ReaSnow S1 is the next-gen converter of ours,
it will get the most support and the latest update.
secondly, with ReaSnow S1, each axis of your flight stick can be mapped
to a controller's sticks or triggers separately and easily.
-
hmm ... it's understandable that the product is newer and there will be longer support. The fact is that I am not a gamer and I decided to try flying using my saitek and vr. I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this. Do I need these settings and stick maps as an ordinary user? Will I get any big difference in using the saitek in new and older version of the converter? Or will it stay at the same level of enjoyment for a few hours a week?
-
yes, S1 will still be a better choice.
and if you do like Cross Hair,
here is a workaround, which will bring similar functions to you.
http://www.reasnow.com/forum/index.php?topic=2575.0
the cons are:
you will have to prepare a USB hub and a BT dongle.
-
Hello. I still bought myself an S1 controller ))) I have the following question for Marten. Is it possible to get Your profile - since we play the same game and the same equipment? Or will I have to configure it myself anyway? Thank you in advance !
-
Hello Miniraser,
At the moment i'm not using the S1 Reasnow with ace combat 7.
This is because of the massive dead zone in the game (see my earlier post above)
I've did try to upgrade the X52 with the magnet trick upgrade. (you can find this in google or youtube)
It did improve the stick but did not solve the problem for ace combat 7 on ps4.
I would advise you to by a Hotas PS4 joystick.
If you really want to try for yourself than i would advise you to make the flight stick work. Only with the flight controls. Make a test flight and worry about the buttons later.
One tip i've got for you is to connect the reasnow after you start the game. Somehow you can't pass the ''press any button'' start screen with the reasnow so you have to do this with the ps4 controller.
Let me know if you have the same experience.
-
Hi Marten ! First of all, thank you for your feedback ! I just got my S1 yesterday. In the coming days, I will try to launch the game together with saitek and S1. Next, I will definitely answer in this forum about my opinion on the work or lags that I see.
-
hello everyone again. I could not do the mapping. I always have the same picture. if you move the joystick - for a moment the values change and again become the same. the controller does not understand that I am moving the stick towards myself and left or right (it only sees forward movement and ruder operation)
-
@Miniraser
do you still have trouble for mapping buttons and sticks?
and can you elaborate your issue?
some videos or photos will be better.
-
Hello! I have some photos and videos - but I can't upload them here due to size limitation.
-
please upload your pictures to other file sharing servers, and send us the link
such as dropmefiles, google drive, etc.
-
How can i save my configuration so Miniraser can use it?
-
with the latest firmware and app
http://www.reasnow.com/forum/index.php?topic=3025.0
you can do "export & import", or "copy & paste" for game profiles.
-
Hello everybody ! I made some videos and uploaded them to youtube. First, I tested my saitek on a computer again. And it works right! Here's a link https://youtu.be/DDPXT6mY-6s
Then I reconnected all the equipment and tried mapping but failed.
https://youtu.be/NSpmnMA7Gto
I've tried this several times with different dead zones. But I always get the same result. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
-
check 0:11 in this video,
https://youtu.be/NSpmnMA7Gto
if you did not touch the flight stick then,
it shows that your flight stick has not been properly recognized by ReaSnow S1,
that axis shall be 0 when they are untouched.
are you using Saitek X52 or Saitek X52 Pro?
btw, no need to change the deadzone,
this issue is not caused by that.
-
At the moment when the video was shown at 0:11, the joystick was not touched and no effects were made. I use Saitek X52 not Pro
-
got it, we know the reason for your issue now.
will provide a solution soon.
-
Thank you! looking forward to.
-
This is my configuration for ace combat 7 with the saitek x52.
All buttons work but still a massive deadzone in the flight controls.
@Richard any update on this issue?
Any chance you will implement the solution i proposed in my earlyer post?
-
yes, we will add deadzone for each axis to improve your control in the next version.
-
Wow! Cool! Thanks Marten !!! ran trying to load this configuration! Richard Thanks also to you - when I try this configuration - I'll let you know how it worked.
-
One more question! Should Accessory Support be enabled in my case? Or is it not necessary?
if it is disabled - I / O monitor does not work (values do not appear)
-
Excuse me ! I was wrong ! I / O monitor works anyway! ;)
But on the monitor page when you turn it on and without making any action on the joystick - I still have values that differ from zero :(
-
then, please wait for our next release.
I/O Monitor:
Input and Output will be displayed on HOME page when “I/O Monitor” is enabled.
And this feature will be turned off automatically for better efficiency when APP is restarted.
-
Should Accessory Support be enabled in my case? Or is it not necessary?
-
it shall be enabled when 2 USB flight sticks(or throttles) are connected to ReaSnow S1
-
Hello everyone ! Happy New Year and Merry Christmas ! Richard, has my problem been updated yet? I would be very grateful if you let me know when the update will happen for me!
-
might need a couple of more weeks, still in holidays:)

@Marten
a dead zone has been added for each axis in this beta version, so you can increase them if you feel some delay while moving the stick.
@Miniraser
please try this beta version, choose a suitable Mode for each axis,
you can find these settings in "joystick-more".
-
@Richard thanks for your effort.
When i have the time i will give the new update a try.
I'll let you know.
-
Hello there! I apologize for the late response, I was also on the weekend ) tonight I will try
-
http://www.reasnow.com/download/ReaSnowApp/ReaSnow%20Manager%20V1.3.7%20beta.apk
and what is the file with the extension of the apk for?
-
An Android Package Kit (APK for short) is the package file format used by the Android operating system for distribution and installation of mobile apps.
it's convenient for us to release beta versions for users.
and there is no beta version APP for iPhones, sorry for that.
-
I purchased an android phone and installed the application. I couldn't figure out the modes. In which case, which mode should I use (A, B, C, D or none)?
-
enable "I/O Monitor" and check the ins and outs on HOME page,
change the mode until you can see no output from your flight stick when it's untouched.
-
should i just pick up the mode? or select the mode and set the dead zone value? what do the values in modes mean? for example 0> 50> 100 or -50> 0> 50 and so on
-
please just try the modes one by one, until your problem is solved.
no need to change the dead zone.
those modes are different kinds of data interpretation,
will provide some explanations later.
-
i've did try the new update.
It made it possible to change the dead zone for each channel.
But instead of adding deadzone i would like to make the flight stick more sensitive. (higher output to the PS4)
-
@Marten
but we thought a smaller deadzone will bring you a more sensitive axis.
-
Not in this case because there is a deadzone in the ace combat game.
-
oh, yes, that is the reason you feel the delayed control.
will evaluate the possible improvements and get back to you later.
-
Any update on this topic?
-
still on our waiting list.
-
still on our waiting list.
Almost two years later, is there any change it could be implemented?
Unfortunately, I'm facing the same problem. Ace Combat has a dead-zone of 22, as I'm unable to change this rate (today reasnow maps 1 per 1). Initially, I thought the curves' configuration were there to solve this issue, but they seem to have no effect. Are these configurations still working?
App: 1.5.16
Firmware: 5.6.86
Hardware: 1.9.5
Bootloader: 3.6.0
Joystick: Logitec X56 Pro
-
It's been solved long ago.
Please add a "Converted Controller" config in ReaSnow App, then go to more/(Joystick)more, and change deadzones there.
Do not use the curve. it's for mouse behavior only.
