Title: Is there any reason why the Crosshair needs to be plugged in....

Is there any reason why the Crosshair needs to be plugged in while booting the system and if for example it loses connection during game we are required to restart the console.

Why is it not possible to just plug Reasnow in whenever and start playing even when the console is on?

yes, you can just plug in cross hair when your console is on.
that is ok.
