getting a solid white when connecting CH to PS4. checked all connections are good and in the appropriate ports. tried doing factory reset on CH as well as updating firmware on unit. still getting a solid white when plugging unit into PS4. anyone have an idea as to what it might be?

a solid white LOGO with no continous beeps means Cross Hair find no controller while powering up.
you will need to check the connection between Cross Hair and PS4 controller.
a new and qualified USB cable might help!

The usb to micro usb was working fine. tried another working cord with the same result. going to have to do a refund. disappointed to say the least.

it's OK, you have the right to do that!
but i have to insist a solid white LOGO with no continous beeps means Cross Hair find no controller while powering up.
that is what you need to check.
and it can be solved easily.
