PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 users have received their second Far Cry 4 update, which aims to fix some known bugs within the game. On the official Ubisoft website, the company announced that the patch was released sooner than expected, saying:
This is earlier than we anticipated and we’re pleased to be able to offer a number of fixes that should remedy many of the problems faced by our users since launch. As we go into the weekend, we hope to provide a smoother experience for our fans.
While there is no word yet about any possible patch for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of Far Cry 4, reports indicate that a fix for the PC port is expected sometime this week. The Windows patch will hopefully rectify a bug in the game which crashes to a black screen whenever an external USB device is detected. You can keep a watchful eye on any future patches by visiting the publishing team’s Live Update page.
According to Ubisoft, the PlayStation patch has the following fixes:
Fixed some random crashes on all game modes
Fixed host migration edge random & case issues
Fixed custom match stability issues
Fixed join-in-progress edge case issues
Fixed progression page issues in Story missions
Fixed functionality issues in the shop menu
Fixed several localization issues (cut-off text, subtitles)
Fixed various low repro walkthrough breaks
Fixed host migration random issues specific to coop
Fixed minor gameplay functionality issues
Fixed aiming issues with the machine gun weapon
Fixed minor and low repro QTE issue with specific animals
Fixed Map Browser issues
Fixed occlusion and navmesh issues
Fixed some missing audio in radio calls
PS4 only: Coop will no longer cause users to hang on the main menu and with the second player unable to progress to the lobby
Far Cry 4 was released on November 18, 2014 in North America, Europe and Australia and received mostly positive reviews. Japan will see the game hit shelves on January 22nd, 2015.
